Ubuntu Global Jam Tunisia

UGJ-TN Notre communauté Locale organisera pour la première fois en Tunisie un Ubuntu Global Jam. Cet événement se déroulera du 2 au 4 Septembre à l’Université Privée de Sousse. Au programme des ateliers de tests, des ateliers de traductions, etc. L’événement commencera par une présentation de la distribution Ubuntu et une install party ouverte à tous ceux qui veulent être présents. Ensuite et pour des raisons stratégiques les ateliers seront ouverts aux membres inscrits. Le programme détaillé est disponible dans la page wiki [1].

Our local community is organizing for the first time in Tunisia an Ubuntu Global Jam. This event will be held from 2 to 4 September at the Private University of Sousse. In the program tests workshops, translations workshops, etc.. The event will begin with a presentation of Ubuntu and an install party open to anyone who wants to attend. And then for strategic reasons the workshops will be open only to registered members. The detailed program is available in the wiki page [1].

ISITCom Hammam-Sousse Event 11.04 – Rapport

Voici un petit rapport bref et rapide sur la journée organisée par notre communauté locale en collaboration avec le nouveau club « Free Your Mind ». Donc pour célébrer la naissance de ce nouveau club de l’Institut Supérieur d’Informatique et des Technologies de Communication nous étions invité à assurer l’animation d’une journée destinée aux étudiants de l’institut. Après le mot d’ouverture donné par le directeur nous entamé la journée par une présentation de la distribution Ubuntu, suivie par une présentation du CMS Drupal et la présentation de quelques outils de développement en Java. La journée était clôturée par la distribution de CD Ubuntu et une install party.

Here is a short and quick report on the seminar organized by our local community in collaboration with the new club « Free Your Mind ». So to celebrate the birth of this new club of the Institute for Advanced Computer and Communication Technologies we were invited to ensure theanimation  of a day for students of the institute. After the opening by the institute director we started the day with a presentation of the Ubuntu distribution, followed by a presentation of Drupal CMS and the presentation of several development tools in Java. The day was concluded by distributing Ubuntu CD’s and an install party.

Tunisian LoCo meeting with Mark Shuttleworth

During the the 6th edition of the National Conference on Open Source Software in Tunisia our LoCo team scheduled a meeting with Mark. This meeting was an occasion for Tunisian LoCo members and Tunisian FOSS community members to meet Mark and discuss, during one hour, about the LoCo team activity, Ubuntu development, Unity, etc…

Here is the video of the opening ceremony of the 6th edition of the National Conference on Open Source Software in Tunisia, on December 15th 2010. This video (of one hour) includes :
– The welcome message (in Arabic, French and English) by Mrs. Lamia Chaffai Sghaier, Secretary of State for Information Technology, Internet and Open Source, Ministry of Communication Technologies, Tunisia.
